SPECIALIST SERVICES

UKES have a number of specialist services. Typcially the Overall Operational Effectiveness falls back after commissioning engineers leave site. We offer independent assessments of where the systems are not supporting the expected efficiencies.

Equipment System Optimisation analyses the potential operational performance of an installed group of equipment, and measures actual activity against this.  Other known technlologies, instrumentation functionality and previous project experiences, are employed to recommend a series of improvements.

The scale of improvement steps identified, range from a change to operational practises, through to re-configuration of equipment groups.

Line Improvement Studies The objective is to improve the overall line performance of a manufacturing facility in terms of improved output, better quality and reduced waste. UKES will work with the production and maintenance staff to implement their recommendations based on a number of different studies:

  • Downtime Analysis Study
  • Equipment Evaluation: Performance, Condition, Speed
  • Equipment Line Speed Analysis
    • Line (Speed) Balance
    • Evaluation of Accumulation and Recovery
  • Operational Environment Assessment
  • Manufacturing Capability Study
    • Process and Equipment
    • Packaging
    • Raw Materials
    • Operating Conditions
  • Identification of Key Performance Drivers
    • Process Parameters
    • Equipment Set-up
  • Review of Staff Skill Levels
  • Development of Rectification Strategy Timeline
    • Cost Estimate
    • Scope with defined Benefits

Plant AppraisalsThe objective is to acurately assess the capacity of existing machinery to delivery the client's volume requirements. UKES will work with the production and maintenance staff to define the limitations of the equipment and potential solutions to realise the desired operational set-up.

  • Verification of Existing Infrastructure
  • Identification of Plant and Equipment
  • Establish Existing Capacity
  • Determine Actual Performance versus rated capacity
  • Investigate Expansion Potential
    • Current Products
    • Product Variants
    • New Products
  • Capacity Analysis against Demand
  • Preliminary Budget Cost Estimate

Asset Valuation

  • Identification of Assets
  • Replacement Cost Valuation based on UKES Equipment Cost Database
  • Establish Equipment Condition
    • Performance
    • Mechanical Wear
    • Electrical
    • Health and Safety
  • Equipment Valuation
    • Future Life Expectancy
    • Maintenance Service Factor Condition
